What is Esso Smiles Driver Rewards™ programme ?
Esso Smiles Driver Rewards is a driver's rewards programme that rewards loyal consumers (you) for spending at Esso service stations in Singapore.

What is this new programme change?
From 1 October 2025, Esso Smiles Private Hire cardholders will no longer earn Smiles points for purchases. Instead, you will receive monthly eVouchers offering greater and more immediate fuel savings. Each month, you will receive 5 eVouchers of $5 off $60 gross spend and 15 eVouchers of $3 off $40 gross spend. These eVouchers are automatically issued via the Esso app on the first working day of each month.

Why am I no longer receiving Smiles points?
Smiles points issuance has been discontinued for Esso Smiles Private Hire cardholders since 1 October 2025, so the Esso Smiles Private Hire Card can provide higher-value fuel savings via monthly eVouchers instead.

Why was I not informed about the change to the Esso Smiles Private Hire programme?
Information about the new Esso Smiles Private Hire programme is made available through Esso service stations, the Esso Smiles website, the Esso app, SMS and the official Esso Singapore Facebook page.

Will my existing Smiles points be removed?
Smiles points accumulated before 1 October 2025 will remain valid and can be redeemed until 31 March 2026. After that, any unredeemed points will be forfeited. We recommend using your remaining points before the deadline to redeem rewards via the Esso app.

I only have a small balance of Smiles points that is not enough to redeem anything. What can I do?
For issues related to Smiles points, please contact our Customer Service team at 1800 300 8888 (operating hours: 9am to 6pm, Mondays to Fridays, closed on weekends and public holidays) or use the Live Chat function in your Esso app. They will assist with your request.

What new vouchers will I receive under the updated Esso Smiles Private Hire programme?
At the first working day of each month, you will receive 5 vouchers of $5 off $60 gross spend, and 15 vouchers of $3 off $40 gross spend.

When will the vouchers be issued?
On the first working day of every month, vouchers will be automatically issued to your account via the Esso app.

Do I need to do anything to receive the vouchers?
No action is required. As long as you remain eligible under the Esso Smiles Private Hire Card programme, the vouchers will be issued automatically.

How long are the vouchers valid for?
The validity of each voucher is stated on the eVoucher itself. Please refer directly to the eVouchers via the Esso app or the SMS eVoucher link sent to your registered mobile number for expiry details.

Can I still enjoy Smiles member promotions or redeem other rewards?
Esso Smiles Private Hire cardmembers will no longer earn Smiles points but can still enjoy other promotions, if applicable.

Where do I get an Esso Smiles card?
Simply pick up an Esso Smiles Driver Rewards card (“Esso Smiles card”) at any Esso service station in Singapore.
 
For Private Hire drivers – Once you have obtained your Esso Smiles Private Hire card from our service station, please complete the application form and submit it together with a photocopy of your Private Hire Vehicle (“PHV”) licence to our station staff for validation.
 
How do I register my Esso Smiles card?
You can start using your Esso Smiles card to earn Smiles points immediately, but you must successfully register your card to redeem your points for petrol, mart items, lubricant services, and car wash services.
 
Register your Esso Smiles card instantly via the Esso app.
 
For Private Hire drivers – You will be able to register your Esso Smiles Private Hire card after your PHV license has been validated. The validation process will take approximately 2 weeks following the submission of the application form and photocopy of your PHV license.
Once validated, you may link your Esso Smiles Private Hire Card to your Esso app by downloading the app and following the prompts under the Esso PDVL Registration.
 
How many Esso Smiles accounts can I have?
Each unique mobile phone number may register for up to 5 Esso Smiles accounts. Company1 reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, modify, block or delete any additional Esso Smiles accounts at any time and without any further notice.

How does it work?

The Esso Smiles Digital Card is a new feature on the Esso app that replaces the physical Esso Smiles card. You will no longer need to bring your physical Esso Smiles card when fuelling at an Esso service station.

With the new Digital Card, each Esso Smiles member can find their unique QR code under the “My QR tab” in their Esso app. This will allow you to earn Smiles points or redeem rewards by scanning your QR code over the counter at any Esso service station.

How can I register for an Esso Smiles Digital Card?
If you are an existing Esso Smiles member with a physical Esso Smiles card

If you do not already have the Esso app, download the app and follow the prompts for registration. Through the registration process, you will be able to link your existing physical Esso Smiles card to your Digital Card.

If you are a new Esso Smiles member without a physical Esso Smiles card

You will no longer need to request for a physical Esso Smiles card at Esso service stations. Simply download the Esso app and follow the prompts for registration.

How can I register for an Esso Smiles Digital Card as an Esso Smiles Private Hire card member?
If you are an existing Esso Smiles Private Hire member with a physical Esso Smiles Private Hire card

Download the Esso appx select ‘login/register’ and follow the steps for registration. Do note to input the same personal information that is registered to your existing Smiles card.

If you are a new Esso Smiles Private Hire member without a physical Esso Smiles Private Hire card

For new Esso Smiles Private Hire members, kindly approach our cashiers at any Esso service station to register for the Esso Smiles Private Hire Digital Card. You will be required to present a valid PHV licence for verification purposes. Upon verifying, the cashier will provide you with a QR code that you can scan with your camera app. This will route you to the registration page for private hire drivers.

How can I register for an Esso Smiles Digital Card as an Esso Smiles Taxi card or Esso Smiles Bus card member?
If you are an existing Esso Smiles Taxi or Bus member with a physical Esso Smiles Taxi or Bus card

Download the Esso app and select ‘login/register’ to follow the steps for registration. Do note to input the same personal information that is registered to your existing Smiles card.

If you are a new Esso Smiles Taxi or Bus member without a physical Esso Smiles Taxi or Bus card

For new Esso Smiles Taxi or Bus members, kindly approach your company to obtain and register a physical Esso Smiles Taxi or Bus card. Upon successful registration, download the Esso app, select ‘login/register’ and follow the steps for registration. Do note to input the same personal information that is registered to your existing Smiles card.

How can I add more than 1 account and switch accounts easily?

After loading your Esso app, click on your profile on the top left corner. From there, select ‘Switch account’ and click on ‘Add account’. You may also switch accounts by clicking on the respective profiles listed.

I have removed my account from my Esso app. Will I be able to retrieve it?

Yes, removing your account from the Esso app does not mean that your account and its data is permanently deleted. If you would like to add an account, please click on your profile on the top left corner of the Esso app. From there, select ‘Switch account’ and click on ‘Add account’.

What is an Alternative Loyalty Identifier (ALT-ID)?

The ALT-ID allows you to identify yourself as an Esso Smiles member and collect points by providing your registered mobile number. When making payment for your fuel purchase at an Esso service station without your physical or Digital Card, you may provide the mobile number registered as your ALT-ID instead. The discount tagged to the Smiles account that’s registered with your ALT-ID will apply.

How can I enable ALT-ID?

When registering for your Esso Smiles Digital Card, you will be prompted to enable your ALT-ID at the end of the registration process. Otherwise, you may manually click on your profile on the top left corner of the Esso app and select ‘Account information’, and “Personal Information’. When registering for your Esso Smiles Digital Card, you will be prompted to enable your ALT-ID at the end of the registration process. How does it work?

When you purchase fuel at any Esso service station in Singapore you earn Esso Smiles points. When you have accumulated enough points, they can be redeemed instantly at Esso service stations for petrol, mart items, lubricant services or car wash services. Esso Smiles points can also be converted to selected partner’s loyalty points or used to redeem a variety of lifestyle rewards via the Esso app.

How do I earn Esso Smiles points?

Every litre of Synergy™ fuel you pump at Esso service station earns you 1 Esso Smiles point. Remember to use your Esso Smiles card / DBS Esso Card / credit card linked to an Esso Smiles account (“Smiles-linked credit card”) every time you make a purchase to earn your Esso Smiles points.

Can I earn Smiles points and enjoy discounts when I use mobile payments?

No, you need to use your Esso Smiles card, DBS Esso Card or Smiles-linked credit card when making payment to earn Smiles points and enjoy any/all applicable discounts.

What are qualifying purchases?

Qualifying purchases refers to purchases of Synergy™ fuel available at Esso service stations.

How long will it take me to earn my first Esso Smiles reward?

Use your Esso Smiles card when you purchase fuel at any Esso service station in Singapore and earn points instantly on every litre of petrol purchased, no minimum spend is required.

How do I redeem Esso Smiles points instantly?
With an Esso Smiles Digital Card

Simply present your unique QR code under ‘My QR’ in the Esso app and inform the cashier that you would like to redeem your points for petrol or mart items. The required Esso Smiles points will be deducted from your account and the new balance displayed on your receipt. You may also check your Esso Smiles points balance by logging on to your account on the Esso app.

Kindly note that your Esso Smiles card must be registered before you can redeem your points. All mandatory details must be provided to activate the card.

With a physical Esso Smiles card

Simply present your Esso Smiles card and inform the cashier that you would like to redeem your points for petrol or mart items. The required Esso Smiles points will be deducted from your account and the new balance displayed on your receipt. You may also check your Esso Smiles points balance by logging on to your account on the Esso app.

Kindly note that your Esso Smiles card must be registered before you can redeem your points. All mandatory details must be provided to activate the card.

How can I generate a QR code for redemption?

You may generate your QR code by clicking on ‘My QR’ on the Esso app homepage. Under ‘Available Reward – Please select’, select the reward that you would like to redeem and confirm your choice by clicking on ‘Select coupon’. This will automatically generate your QR code for the cashier to scan.

Can I redeem multiple vouchers at the same time?

You may only redeem multiple vouchers of the same denomination. For example, you may use two (2) $5 off $70 min. spend Synergy™ fuels vouchers for a single transaction, but you may not combine one (1) $1 off $10 min. spend and one (1) $5 off $70 min. spend Synergy™ fuels voucher for a single transaction.

Can I combine an instant fuel redemption with a Synergy™ fuels voucher?

You may not combine the instant fuel redemption with a Synergy™ fuels voucher, but you may use multiple instant fuel redemptions at the same time. For example, with sufficient Smiles points, you may choose to redeem one (1) $10 instant fuel and one (1) $30 instant fuel redemption. These rewards may be stacked in a single transaction.

Do you have an online rewards store?

Besides instant redemptions for petrol or mart items at our Esso service stations, you can also redeem rewards from our partner stores via the Esso app. If you do not have the Esso app, you can download it now on the Apple App Store at https://apple.co/2TdWiX3 or Google Play at http://bit.ly/2IxrZqc. How can I view my Esso Smiles points balance?

You can view your Esso Smiles points balance at any time via the Esso app. Your points balance is also printed on your petrol receipt. Alternatively, you can call the Esso Smiles Customer Service Hotline at 1800-300-8888 (normal operating hours are from 9am to 6pm, Mondays to Fridays, closed on weekends and public holidays) to check.

When will my Esso Smiles points expire?

Esso Smiles points in your Esso Smiles Driver Rewards account will not expire as long as you make at least one qualifying purchase with your Esso Smiles card or earn Esso Smiles points within 12 months from the date the last Esso Smiles point was awarded and credited into your Esso Smiles Driver Rewards account.

Will my Esso Smiles points expire when my credit card that is linked to my Esso Smiles account expires?

Your credit card may expire but the Esso Smiles points accumulated under your credit card will still be valid if you had made at least one qualifying purchase or earned Esso Smiles points within 12 months from the date the last Esso Smiles points were awarded and credited into your Esso Smiles account linked to your expired credit card. If there are changes to your credit card particulars, please update your details by logging on to your account via the Esso app.

What should I do if I forget to swipe my Esso Smiles card when I purchase petrol?

Please keep your receipt, and fill out the Esso Smiles Customer Request Form which is located on www.EssoSmiles.com.sg.

Can I convert my Esso Smiles points to Asia Miles™ or KrisFlyer™ miles?

Yes, you may do a one-time conversion of your Esso Smiles points to Asia Miles or KrisFlyer miles as long as you are a member of these programmes. You may also check with our Esso Smiles Customer Service Hotline or online at www.EssoSmiles.com.sg/smiles-rewards/convert-your-points for more information on our automatic conversion services for conversion of Esso Smiles points to Asia Miles or KrisFlyer miles.

How do I delink my KrisFlyer account?

Currently, delinking of KrisFlyer and Esso Smiles accounts can only be performed on the Singapore Airlines website. To delink your KrisFlyer account from your Esso Smiles account:

  • Step 1 - Login to your KrisFlyer membership account here and go to ‘Profile’ > ‘Partner programmes’
  • Step 2 - Under ‘Add Partner’, click on ‘Unlink/Delete’ under Esso.

 

Can I terminate my current conversion program from Smiles to my partner account (Asia Miles or KrisFlyer Miles)?

Yes, you can terminate the conversion program by contacting our Esso Smiles Customer Service Hotline at 1800-300-8888 (normal operating hours are from 9am to 6pm, Mondays to Fridays, closed on weekends and public holidays). Please note that you can only terminate the conversion after signing up with the program for 6 months.

Can I earn rewards using only the physical Esso Smiles card?

A physical Esso Smiles card only entitles customers to a 5% Esso Smiles instant discount for fuel. 

To earn Smiles Points to redeem for fuel and other rewards, please download the Esso App and register for an Esso Smiles Digital Card. 

Existing customers with a physical Esso Smiles card can link their physical card to the Esso Smiles Digital Card during registration. Only registered Smiles cards are eligible to earn and redeem Smiles points.

How can I opt out from receiving promotional messages?

If your card is registered online, you can log on to your account on the Esso app and update your profile to select Opt Out from receiving promotional message.

You may also choose to contact our Esso Smiles Customer Service Hotline at 1800-300-8888 (normal operating hours are from 9am to 6pm, Mondays to Fridays, closed on weekends and public holidays), and they will assist you.

I was saving my Esso Smiles points for a reward but the reward has been removed or is no longer available. Can I still redeem it? And why did you remove the reward?

If a particular reward has been removed, it is no longer available for redemption. Based on customer feedback, we continually review the list of rewards featured. Some of the rewards removed may also be items that are no longer offered by the retailer and we've hence replaced them with other rewards.

What can I use my $3 Instant Mart Redemption for?

You may use the $3 Instant Mart Redemption to pay for your in-store purchases at any Esso service station. With effect from 1 June 2022, the minimum redemption is $3 using 180 Esso Smiles points. Every subsequent $1 may be redeemed at 36 Esso Smiles points, and you may pay for the balance with cash. No physical voucher will be issued for the $5 Instant Mart Redemption.

Can I link my credit card to my Esso Smiles account? What do I need to do?

You may choose to link your credit card(s) to your Esso Smiles account and you will need only one card to pay and earn Esso Smiles points. Simply log on to your account on the Esso app, select ‘Account information’, followed by ‘+Add’. Alternatively, you can apply for the DBS Esso Card, which automatically enrols you in the Smiles Driver Rewards programme.

I recently updated my linked credit card particulars with the bank, will my personal information update be reflected in my Esso Smiles account?

Once you have registered your linked credit card online, your personal information update will be maintained as per the particulars you have registered with. Any other future personal information update done with the bank on your linked credit card, will not be reflected in your Esso Smiles account. If there are changes in your linked credit card particulars, please update your Esso Smiles account details by logging on to your account on the Esso app.

My Esso Smiles card is lost / damaged / defective. What should I do?

If you lose your Esso Smiles card or if it is damaged or defective, please report it to the Esso Smiles Customer Service Hotline at 1800-300-8888 (normal operating hours are from 9am to 6pm, Mondays to Fridays, closed on weekends and public holidays). Upon receiving your report, we will immediately block the card from use. You may get a new Esso Smiles card at any Esso service station to replace a lost or damaged Esso Smiles card, please complete Esso Smiles Customer Request Form at EssoSmiles to transfer the Esso Smiles points in your lost/damaged Esso Smiles card to your new Esso Smiles card.

How do I change my address or any other personal Esso Smiles account?

Simply log on to your account on the Esso app to update your details. Changes will be reflected immediately.

I have multiple Esso Smiles Driver Rewards cards/Esso Smiles Driver Rewards accounts, am I able to combine/merge them into one account?

Yes, for further assistance with merging your accounts, please complete the form at Esso Smiles Merge Smiles Card or contact the Esso Smiles Customer Service Hotline at 1800-300-8888 (normal operating hours are from 9am-6pm, Mondays to Fridays, closed on weekends and public holidays).
